I long for the day when doula consultations are face to face, mask free, and we can hug again! This is where our relationship begins. It's where the magic happens. The "vibes" are being nurtured. You are inviting us into a very profound moment, experienced only a small number of times in your lifetime. And we are grateful for each and every family we have served.
So what does a consultation look like? Does the earth part and the birth goddess give us their blessing? Not quite.
It's important that we get to know you as much as you get to know us. We will ask you questions so we can get an idea about what support you are looking for and how we can fill that role. Come prepared to talk about anything that you have read and thought was cool, or things you have heard from your bestie that scared you a little. These conversations lead to community, a feeling of "I found my village".
Consultations are a great time to ask questions. Ask us about our passions. Ask us about our trainings, education, and experience. Ask us about our role at your birth. Ask us any question that you think would give you the information to decide if we would be a good fit for you and your family.
