The Season of Joy

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

As we enter this season, that is celebrated in so many ways, I see a common thread. We are all looking for joy. Joy from lighting the Christmas tree. Joy from lighting the candles on the Menorah. Joy from celebrating a special baby's birth. Joy from celebrating the shortest day and the longest night of the year, and a reminder to honor our connection to the natural world.

What is joy? Joy is an emotion comprised of feelings of happiness, contentment, and harmony. It differs from happiness. It is does not come from an event. Joy comes from within.

What brings YOU joy?

My grandchildren bring me joy. My heart gets happy when I see them and watch them grow. I feel joy in seeing my children become partners and parents. The love they have for their families brings me joy. My pup Enzo brings me joy. He is always there to greet me with a kiss. No matter what mood I'm in, he puts a smile on my face. These things can't be wrapped in beautiful paper, tied up in ribbons and bows.

My wish for you is that this joy continues throughout the year. That you find joy in the little things. That your heart is full and your family feels the joy.

FREE doula consultation? Yes please!

I long for the day when doula consultations are face to face, mask free, and we can hug again! This is where our relationship begins. It's where the magic happens. The "vibes" are being nurtured.
